The Idaho Association of Educational Office Professionals (IAEOP) is a professional association for office professionals in educational systems and organizations in Idaho.

The purpose of IAEOP is to promote the advancement of education by improving the quality of service provided by educational office professionals within the State to institutions of learning and the profession.

The objectives of IAEOP are to provide professional growth opportunities, recognize educational office professionals as members of the educational team, and elevate the standards of office personnel education.

IAEOP is an affiliate of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) and is allied with the Idaho Association of School Superintendents and the Idaho Association of School Administrators. Formation of local associations is encouraged to assist in: professional growth, closer personal relations, and social activities.

IAEOP was conceived when two members of the Idaho Department of Education Association of Secretaries (IDEAS) attended an NAEOP Conference in Portland, Oregon. An organizational meeting was held in October 1972, a constitution adopted, and officers elected. The organization has grown and developed into a meaningful group for professional growth of educational office professionals in Idaho.

IAEOP is financed by the assessment of registration fees at the annual conference, by annual membership dues, and by ways and means projects.

As educational office employees, we affirm our belief that an education is the birthright of every person and pledge ourselves to the preservation of that right. We recognize the special province of the professional educator and the significance of the responsibilites assumed by the educator. We also recognize the unique role of educational office professionals and the importance of the contributions made in such a position.

Commitment to the Profession

* Become and remain active members of our professional association, viewing such membership as an opportunity for personal development.

* Encourage educational office professionals to join local, state and national professional associations, recognizing that growth is essential to group strength and progress.

* Acknowlege that a profession is held responsible for the conduct of its members, realizing that by our actions as individuals, may the profession be judged.

* Interest others in careers as educational office professionals, bringing into our ranks capable and efficient individuals.

* Place service above personal convenience or pleasure, endeavoring always to be a credit to our profession.
